Green Bitumen R&D Project – Expressions of Interest

Bio Products Australia is leading an innovative R&D initiative to develop renewable bitumen alternatives using biomass-derived bio-oils. The Green Bitumen Project aims to assess the technical, environmental, and commercial viability of integrating bio-oils into road construction materials, reducing reliance on fossil-based inputs and supporting Australia’s shift toward low-emission infrastructure.

We will soon be inviting expressions of interest from potential collaborators across the sector, including:

• Bitumen and Asphalt Manufacturers

• NATA-Accredited Laboratories

• Universities and Research Institutions

• Infrastructure and Sustainability Advisors

This is a unique opportunity to co-develop and trial next-generation materials that align with ESG goals and national decarbonisation targets.
